‘Twas the night before Christmas
When all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
The stockings were hung
By the chimney with care
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there …
But the kids had gone crazy, and I had gone nuts
Because the holiday season is sometimes too much.
From family events and recitals and more
It was all starting to seem like … a chore.
Sound familiar? It’s easy to let the holiday season get away from you – and for times that should be filled with joy, turn to times that are filled with stress. But if own a hot tub, you’re in luck! It’s the perfect way to reduce your stress and spend some quality time with those you love during this hectic season.
While you’re enjoying your hot tub, try these relaxation techniques:
Put on your favorite music – use the sound system on your hot tub, or put on some headphones.
Read a book – there’s not much better than getting lost between the pages of your favorite novel.
Stargaze – if it’s nighttime, watch the stars. Use an app to help you identify the planets and constellations.
Light some candles – a relaxing soak surrounded by beautiful candlelight is camling. Choose candles scented with lavender or another calming aromatherapy scent.
Laugh – share your hot tub time with those you love most. Take turns telling funny stories to each other.
Watch a movie – if you don’t have a TV by your hot tub, take your phone or tablet with you and stream a favorite film.
Enjoy some family time – spend some unscheduled time with your family, just hanging out. Don’t underestimate the importance of that, especially when you’re so busy.
Put the electronics away – just … unplug. It’s great to use your electronics to help you relax, but if it’s not working, don’t be afraid to turn it all off and close your eyes. Enjoy the soothing warm water and powerful jets and just … relax.
Ahhh. That’s better.
