The leaves are changing colors, the evenings are cooling off, and autumn is just around the corner. Just because you may be deflating those pool floaties doesn’t mean you have to hang up your swimsuit. Keep the party going, this time with luxurious bubbles and warm water in your Jacuzzi®! If your hot tub has spent the whole summer with its cover on, follow these quick tips for opening your Jacuzzi for fall.
1. A Deep Cleaning is the First Step to Opening Your Jacuzzi for Fall
If you haven’t used your hot tub much over the summer, it’s probably in desperate need of a good cleaning. Start with your spa cover, giving it a scrub with the proper cleaner. It’s also a good idea to do this away from your Jacuzzi to keep chemicals from spilling inside. You may also need to clean the outside cabinet, or at least give it a spray down with the garden hose.
Is it time for your seasonal drain and refill? Now’s the perfect time to do that! You may also need to give the inside shell a scrub down too. If you’re feeling extra motivated, you can wax your cabinet. Don’t forget to check that all of your plumbing, filters, and heater are clean and in good working condition. Replace anything you need to.
2. Get Balanced
Once you’ve got your vessel of relaxation sparkling, it’s time to fill ‘er up! Add chemicals until your water is properly balanced. You’ll know your spa water is healthy when your numbers are:
- Alkalinity – Between 80 and 120
- pH – Between 7.2 and 7.8
- Sanitizer – Chlorine: 1.5 to 3.0 and Bromine: 3.0 to 5.0
All that’s left to do is have fun! Drink that Pumpkin Spice Latte and melt your stress away. Or throw a game day party with the family. Or, host a trivia night as you sit among swirling bubbles. Fall is all about fun and now that your hot tub is ready, there’s even more to enjoy.
