How to Keep Your Spa Clean

How to Keep Your Spa Clean

Keeping your spa clean is essential to enjoying your time and keeping it safe for use. However, don’t let spa maintenance and care make you feel overwhelmed or perplexed. At Texas Hot Tub Company, we have been helping spa owners keep their spa clean for over 60 years. Through our years of experience and knowledge, we’ve compiled some of the best, most straightforward ways to keep your spa clean.

Keep Your Spa Covered

One of the easiest ways to keep your spa clean is by utilizing your spa cover. By keeping your spa cover on between uses, you can keep out falling or windblown debris. Additionally, a spa cover will help prevent water from evaporating which can cause chemicals to become unbalanced. If your spa cover is cracked or in need of replacing, we can help you get a new cover that is custom fit to your hot tub. Great spa care starts with keeping your hot tub covered.

Keep Spa Chemicals in Stock

Another way to care for your spa is by keeping needed chemicals in stock. By keeping proper chemicals on hand, you will have just what you need to keep the water balanced and clean. To stock up on chemicals, stop by any of our five convenient locations. Also, bring in a water sample anytime and we will test it for you. Based on the test results, we can help you get the exact chemicals you need to keep your spa clean.

Stick to a Spa Cleaning Schedule

Spa care is not difficult. Rather, the key is to do it regularly. One of the best ways to keep your spa clean is to have a regular spa cleaning routine. Once or twice a week, test and balance the water’s chemicals. Additionally, after heavy use or increased user load be sure to test the water. Also, check water levels regularly, and refill and clean your hot tub as recommended by the manufacturer.

Keep Water Circulating

When the hot tub water circulates, it passes through the filtration system. Your spa needs to circulate the water at least once a day. Many hot tubs come with an automatic circulation system to do this for you, but if not make sure you run it daily.  Circulating the water is a hassle-free way to keep your spa clean.

Upgrade to a Saltwater System

Another excellent way to care for your spa is by upgrading to a saltwater system. With a Freshwater Salt® System, you can keep the water clean and clear for up to an entire year! This saltwater system utilizes a titanium cartridge that creates chlorine from the salt to keep your pool clean and safe to use.
