How to Do Hot Tub Care After Hosting a Holiday Party

Hot Tub Care After Hosting a Holiday Party

Your guests have all gone home, the holiday party snacks have all been consumed, and fun times were had. Planning and hosting a hot tub holiday party is a fun and festive way to celebrate the season! But once the party has wrapped up, does your hot tub need any special treatment from a larger than normal user load? Yes, in fact it does! At Texas Hot Tub Company, we can help guide you through the after-party maintenance. Here’s how to do hot tub care after hosting a holiday party.

It Starts Before the Guests Arrive

Before the day of your holiday party arrives, there are a few things to do that will make after-party hot tub care easier. First, look over your hot tub interior and exterior. You’re checking to see that everything is in its proper place and safe to use. Next, be sure to balance the hot tub chemicals before the party. Additionally, if you’re due to change the water or clean the filters, now is the time to do so. Finally, stop by your nearest Texas Hot Tub Company location in the DFW area to stock up on chemicals or other supplies you’ll need for hot tub care after the party.

Shock-ing After Party Hot Tub Care

Whenever your hot tub has had a larger than normal user load, such as with a hot tub holiday party, you need to shock the water. Shocking your hot tub is when you add a large amount of sanitizing chemicals. The purpose of shocking your hot tub is to sanitize it and remove organic contaminants such as body oils, deodorant, hair care products, and sweat. At any of our five locations, you can get the chemicals needed to shock your hot tub after your holiday party.

Got Foamy Water?

Sometimes after a large user load, your hot tub can form a foamy layer on the surface of the water. This is the result of large amounts of oils being present from skin, bathing suits, drinks, or other means. When the oils mix with the water and air from the jets, the foam forms. To get rid of the foam, you’ll need to add an enzyme or clarifier to the water. Give us a call and we can recommend just what you need to fix the problem.

Check and Clean the Filters

After the holiday party, run the water (but leave the jets off) regularly for a few days. This will let the water filter through and remove any debris or sediment and help keep the water clean. After a few days, check and clean your filters if needed from the extra work.

Start Planning Your Next Hot Tub Holiday Party!

Once your hot tub chemicals are balanced, it’s safe to use your hot tub again. So, let the party continue! Start planning your next hot tub holiday party to gather with friends and have a great time all over again.
