Hot Summer Landscaping Ideas for Your Hot Spring Spa!

So you’ve decided to get a Hot Spring® spa, or already have one. Congratulations! Owning a hot tub is a wonderful decision. But, once you’ve made that decision, you realize there are so many things you didn’t think about. For instance, your hot tub just looks so boring in your backyard. It’s just missing a little… something. But what? Maybe some landscaping? If you think that’s what your hot tub is missing, check out these hot summer landscaping ideas for your Hot Spring spa!

Build a Privacy “Fence”

When you’re getting all ready to relax in your hot tub, the last thing you want to see is your neighbors (even if they’re great). Hot tub time is “me” time or “family” time, but not “let’s make awkward conversation over the fence while I’m trying to relax in my hot tub” time.

Does this sound like you? If so, you may need a privacy “fence.” Why fence in quotation marks, you ask? Because this isn’t just an ugly old fence that really isn’t going to give you any privacy. When you’re enjoying your Hot Spring spa, you need true privacy. A great way to get that privacy is by adding a hedge or some tall bushes around your spa. These will give you that privacy you need, while also adding some beauty to your backyard.

Add Some Spa-Friendly Plants

If a hedge or tall bushes aren’t enough plants for you, you can add some more spa-friendly plants around your hot tub. A great choice is always citronella, because it will repel bugs from the area around your hot tub. Succulents, ornamental grasses, and other plants that won’t attract bugs or leave debris in your hot tub are also great options.

If you’re wanting to plant anything spiky (like roses or thorny bushes) or trees, try to keep them away from your hot tub. You don’t want to accidentally prick yourself on a thorn or get some unwanted leaves in your hot tub.

Not all tree locations are bad, though. If you’re looking to get some shade from the sun, figure out what direction it’s coming from most of the day in relation to your hot tub. Plant a tree there and voila! You can enjoy some natural shade while relaxing in your hot tub.

Landscaping with a Black Thumb

As great as natural landscaping is, not all of us can keep plants alive, or at the very least in decent shape. If you love these hot summer landscaping ideas but are cursed with a black thumb, we have you covered at Texas Hot Tub Company.

At our Grapevine location, we sell landscaping and planters from Desert Steel. Desert Steel is perfect for anyone who wants landscaping around their hot tub but has a black thumb. All of the “plants” and planters we carry are made of, you guessed it, steel. You’ll never kill another plant again, and you’ll still get to enjoy the beauty of landscaping. Stop by our Grapevine location today to pick out your Hot Spring spa and some beautiful Desert Steel landscaping to go with it. You’ll love the relaxation and privacy you have in your own backyard.
