Fun Facts About Hot Tubs

Hydrotherapy. Pain relief. The ultimate in relaxation. When you think of your home spa, you probably think of all the great ways your hot tub has positively affected your life. And any savvy consumer knows the basics of hot tub benefits – stress relief, reduced muscle pain, better sleep, and more. But did you know that there’s a whole slew of facts that hot tub owners (and hot tub yearners) might not know? It’s true! Let’s introduce you to some incredibly fun facts about hot tubs.

Tale as Old as Time

Hot tubs are not a new invention. From Japan to Rome, from Turkey to Hungary, hot springs and public hot baths have been used by rich and poor, young and old alike for centuries. People have long enjoyed hot baths, mineral baths, and communal springs as places to recover, rejuvenate and reconnect. However, people often don’t have direct access to these amazing locations. That’s why we love bringing people the benefit of a hot tub in the privacy of their own back yard. This life-changing backyard jewel will leave you changed, as you experience the very best in warm water health and wellness.

You Don’t Have to Be J.D. Rockefeller to Own a Spa

Hot tubs are not just for the rich and famous. In fact, there are over 7.2 million hot tub owners in the United States! Although they can be compared to your very own fountain of youth, this fount does not need to break the bank. Financing makes it easy to afford the size and style of spa that will best fit your life. With both hard-wired and plug-and-play options available, Coleman Backyards has the perfect hot tub for your needs and your budget.

Hot Tubs and Airplanes?

If you’re currently scratching your head on this one, keep reading this fantastic, fun fact. Those bubbling hot tub jets that everyone adores came straight out of the Industrial Revolution. In fact, the first hot tub was inspired by hydraulic airplane pumps.

In the early 1900s, new-coming immigrants flocked to the United States from Italy. Among the wave of people were seven brothers named—you guessed it!—Jacuzzi. Intelligent and talented, these brothers were among the leaders in design and manufacturing during the era. Not only did they try their hand at invention with aircraft, but also created the first submersible pump for agriculture in 1925.

Although the Jacuzzi’s were experiencing success, one of the brothers was experiencing heartbreak at home. A son with debilitating rheumatoid arthritis consumed his thoughts and creative genius. In efforts to provide relief for the pain, the Jacuzzi brothers designed a special pump for the boy’s baths. They hoped this warm, moving, innovative hydrotherapy would ease the boy’s distress.

Whatever you call it – a Jacuzzi, a spa, a hot tub, or your “backyard paradise” – you can be sure Coleman Backyards has a wide selection of quality hot tubs to fit your needs. From luxurious spas from Hot Spring to amazing plug-and-play spas from Freeflow, we have everything you need to create your own backyard memories. And with fun facts like these, how can you resist?!
