Four Rookie Mistakes to Avoid When Buying A Hot Tub

You’ve decided to take the plunge and invest in a hot tub. As a first time buyer, you may feel a little bit out of your league. After all, there are so many options when it comes to the tubs themselves. When you factor in how many different places there are to make your purchase, it can all be very overwhelming. The last thing you want to do is make a mistake and regret any part of your purchase. At Texas Hot Tub Company, want our customers to go into the buying process armed with as much information as they can get to prevent any level of buyer’s remorse. To help, check out these four “rookie mistakes” you’ll want to avoid when purchasing your first hot tub:

  1. Buying “a great deal”

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. That great deal that you found on the internet or at the big box store is probably not as great of a deal as it sounds like. The internet can’t come fix your hot tub when something goes wrong. That big box store won’t be there to give you all of the information you need about water care. Aside from all of these after-purchase needs that won’t be met, these hot tubs are also made from inferior quality materials and won’t last as long as quality, name-brand tubs.

  1. Not getting a big enough hot tub

Another common mistake of first time buyers is buying a hot tub that’s too small. When you make your initial investment, you may think that just you and your spouse will be enjoying your hot tub, but as soon as your friends and family find out about your new purchase, your hot tub will quickly become a hub for entertainment. You’ll be left wishing you had purchased a larger tub with more seats.

  1. Not getting additional features

As you’re shopping for your hot tub, you’ll discover that there are plenty of additional features that you can add to your tub. All of these features affect the price of your hot tub. As a first time buyer, a common regret is not adding enough of these features. It initially seems like a good idea to trim costs by not getting as many features as you would like. But unfortunately this usually leads to buyer’s remorse. That effort to save money will actually cost you more money in the long run when you finally decide to upgrade to the features you really want.

  1. Buying without trying

One of the biggest rookie mistakes is buying a hot tub without trying it first. Most reputable stores offer you a test soak when purchasing a hot tub. It’s never a good idea to purchase a hot tub without trying it first. You may just find that the seat isn’t a great fit for your body or the jets don’t actually hit where you want them to hit. Hot tubs are not a one-size-fits-all product. Manufacturers make a variety of models to try to fit everyone’s preferences. You won’t know if the hot tub you’re buying fits your preferences unless you’ve tried it first.

Avoiding these four mistakes will go a long way towards ensuring that you are totally satisfied with your purchase. At Texas Hot Tub Company we’re here to make your hot tub purchase as easy as possible. We walk you through every step so you come out feeling like a champ. Come see us!
