Beginner’s Guide to Hot Tub Water Care

The old saying goes “anything worth having, is worth working for,” and when it comes to water care for your hot tub, no truer words have been spoken. The smartest investment you’ve ever made in your health and wellbeing will unsurprisingly need a little TLC along the way. The good news is that a properly maintained hot tub can last 15 to 20 years. That’s decades worth of relaxation, entertainment, and healing you’ll enjoy by just spending a few minutes here and there taking care of your spa water.

Weekly Water Care

The weekly water care for your hot tub is most likely the easiest. Simply check the water’s pH balance and add the proper chemicals. This is also a great time to add extra products you like to use, such as minerals.

Monthly Maintenance

Maintenance that you’ll need to perform monthly is a bit more hands on, but shouldn’t take too long. Check and clean your filters, this is one of the most important things to keep up with when it comes to caring for your hot tub. You may need to add some scale remover to take care of hard water stains that build up over time.

Seasonal Servicing

Every 3 to 4 months, you’ll need to drain and refill your Jacuzzi®. This is a great time to deep clean your spa while it’s empty. Be sure to check over your hot tub’s cover for any wear or damage, and go ahead and give it a good scrub down as well.

Annual Adjustments for Your Water Care

You’ll need to change out your filter about once a year. And it’s a good idea to ask the pros at Texas Hot Tub Company for more information on your yearly maintenance for your specific model. Some spas have extra features or systems that may need yearly attention as well.
