So, you did your research, ordered a Strong Spas® Hot Tub, and it will be delivered soon. Congratulations! At Texas Hot Tub Company, we are certain you will love it and all its many health and wellness benefits! While you wait on the arrival of your new hot tub, now is the time to make sure you’re ready. What needs to be done around your home to make installation smooth and simple? Here are four things to do to prepare your backyard for a Strong Spa.

Consider the Location in Your Backyard

The first thing to determine is where your hot tub will be located in your backyard. Your hot tub can be installed nearly anywhere, as long as there is a flat surface. Consider where it would look nice regarding your backyard design. If possible, consider choosing a spot close to your home that is easy to access. This makes it as simple to take a quick dip in your spa and easy to access for maintenance. Is your space limited? No problem. At Texas Hot Tub Company, we carry four amazing Strong Spa models that are available in a variety of sizes to fit your space.

Prepare the Foundation

Can I Put my Strong Spa on the Ground?

No, a Strong Spa should not be installed on bare ground or grass. Your hot tub needs to be placed on a stable, level surface. Hot tubs can be very heavy, especially when they are full of water. If placed directly on the ground, this amount of weight can cause shifting or sinking of the ground underneath. Any changes to the ground could make your hot tub unlevel or even put undue pressure and stress on the frame of the hot tub, potentially causing irreversible damage.

Instead, arrange to have a concrete slab poured in the spot you want to install your Strong Spas. The slab should be at least four inches thick. This will provide the support needed to uphold and protect it.

Can I Put my Strong Spa on my Deck?

Yes, your deck is a great location for your Strong Spas Hot Tub! Though, it’s a good idea to have a structural engineer inspect your deck before installation to ensure it can safely hold the weight of a hot tub, the water, and its users.

Arrange for an Electrician to Connect Your Strong Spa

Your Strong Spa will require a dedicated 220V electrical line. So, before arrival day, arrange for an electrician to run this line to your hot tub location and connect it for you. This dedicated power connection gives your spa the power to heat faster, run more efficiently, and powerfully propel the massage jets.

Prepare Your Backyard with Landscaping and More

Don’t forget about what will surround your hot tub. Great landscaping and hot tub accessories can transform your spa location into a destination. At a minimum, create a landscape design plan that you can execute after its arrival. Or, if you’d rather, have the different components purchased and ready to put in place right away. Some scene-setting items might include potted plants, string lights nearby (but not directly over your spa), a wireless audio system, spa steps, and more!
