4 Safety Rules for Your Swim Spa

4 Safety Rules for Your Swim Spa

If you are looking for a hot spot that everyone in your family can enjoy while spending quality time together, a swim spa is that exactly. With the ability to swim, exercise, and relax, swim spas are a fantastic investment for the entire family. With every body of water comes proper safety rules that must be followed to keep everyone safe and healthy. Here at Texas Hot Tub Company, we specialize in health and wellness and aim to share our knowledge with all of our happy customers. Let’s discuss four safety rules to follow while owning a swim spa.

1. Enter and Exit Your Swim Spa Safely

Unless underground, your swim spa will need steps to safely enter and exit the spa. Be sure to purchase steps explicitly designed for Endless Pools® Swim Spa to ensure max safety. While swimming or exercising, water will likely spill over and wet the ground. A slip-resistant mat placed nearby will help prevent moisture buildup in risky areas and prevent falling.

2. Chemical Safety With Your Endless Pools

Swimming in untreated swim spas is dangerous and can risk your and your family’s health. You must always follow the chemical guidelines for your specific swim spa. Spa chemicals kill unwanted bacteria like algae and help maintain a clean and safe spa. Always remember to store your chemicals in a safe place children can’t easily access. A locked cabinet is an ideal location.

3. Play Safe in Your Swim Spa

A swim spa is not designed for rough play. Unlike a regular pool, you cannot dive or jump into a swim spa. Although a swim spa can be used to play games and have fun with the family, always make the rules and regulations apparent while children are in the spa. Rule signs can help reiterate. Rough playing, jumping, and diving in your swim spa can lead to injury and is not recommended. If you wish to promote better safety, purchasing a spa alarm can be very beneficial.

4. Other Helpful Swim Spa Tips

While enjoying your swim spa, several other tips are recommended to help keep you and your family safe.

  • Always stay hydrated, especially while exercising in your swim spa.
  • If your swim spa has a deck, ensure there are no safety hazards on the ground that could cause a slip or fall.
  • Place your cover on your swim spa and secure it when not in use to avoid child access and prevent debris.
  • Never leave any children unattended near or in the swim spa
  • Place a fence around your swim spa to prevent unwanted company.
