It’s hard to believe, but fall is already starting to wind down. After a long 2020, 2021 has seemed to go by in a flash. As we enjoy these last few weeks of fall, it’s easy to be in denial that winter is coming. But, we still need to prepare for the change of the seasons, and that includes preparing your Jacuzzi® hot tub. Here are 3 things to do for your Jacuzzi hot tub this fall, if you haven’t already.
Check Your Hot Tub Cover
As we head into the cold season, it’s very important to have a good cover for your Jacuzzi hot tub. Over the years, the weather and use wears down your hot tub cover. So, it’s important to take a look at it at least once a year to make sure there are no holes or sagging spots. It’s likely your cover will be on a lot more in the winter, and if you want it to keep the heat in and debris out, you need to make sure it’s in great shape. If it’s not, we can help you find a new cover.
Clean and/or Replace the Filters
If you do your own hot tub maintenance, you know that at least once a month you need to rinse your hot tub filters; at least every quarter you need to clean your hot tub filters; and at least once a year you need to replace the filters.
Fall is a great time to do all three of these things. If you plan to use your hot tub throughout the winter, you’re not going to want to do this once the weather gets cold. But as luck would have it, if you don’t clean and/or replace your hot tub’s filters before winter, they’ll need it right at the coldest time of the year. So, just go ahead and do it now. You’ll thank yourself later.
Consider Closing Your Hot Tub for the Winter
In February, we saw one of the coldest winters many of us have experienced, and millions of people across the state lost power. While this hopefully will not happen again this year, it is a possibility. The Farmers Almanac is predicting another rough Texas winter in late January. They’re hoping it won’t be as bad as last year, but can’t say for sure.
If you live in one of the areas impacted by last winter’s snowstorms, it may be worth it to consider closing your hot tub for the winter. You don’t have to close it right away, but just give it some thought. How did your hot tub fare last winter? Take the time to weigh your options.
